What is spray tan?

A trained professional sprays a fine mist of tanning solution on your skin to coat it. The active ingredient (DHA- dihydoxyacetone) reacts with the uppermost layer of skin, resulting in a tan.

What is DHA? Is it safe?

DHA (dihydoxyacetone), is a natural extract. It is most usually produced from sugar cane, or sometimes from beetroot. It is colourless and non-toxic. When applied to skin, it reacts with the amino acids and creates the brown, tanned effect that everyone wants. Because it only penetrates the outermost layer of skin, it is a much safer way to tan. While it still causes some oxidative stress to skin cells, some additives (such as the antioxidants found in our Eden Professional Solutions) can counteract this, making it an even safer option with superior results. So in short- yes, it is the safest way to tan!

By now, everyone knows that exposure to the sun is bad for your skin and for your health, but do you know why?

In a nutshell, every time your bare skin is exposed to UV rays (which are constantly emitted from the sun), damage is done.
